How Do I use a billboard component like in Cave effects example?

I would like to use Billboard component to make a got ray effect like in cave effects example. I basically copied everything they did to their blueprint except for construction script part and mine doesn’t billboard at all. Am I missing something? I know texture sucks but I’m just using it as an example.

Not billboarding. Am I not supposed to use a static mesh that was imported? I saw that they used a static mesh on their example… I tried this on a plane that was in shapes folder as well.

When you say it isn’t “billboarding”, do you mean that plane isn’t rotating to face camera? If so, can you check to see if this is only happening in Blueprint editor? Component view won’t show mesh turning to face camera, but it should still occur as expected while Simulating or Playing. Thanks!

Thank you for replying ! I just want billboard to face player but is locked on z. I think it might have something to do with material. But did try to put it into scene and it still doesn’t work. Anyway i did some things to material but it seems like its only working halfway. i’m not sure what I’m missing.
