How do I set up UV mapping in 3DS Max or Zbrush and import into UE4?

Hi, recently I have learnt modelling in software such as 3DS Max and Zbrush and thats been going fine, but the struggling i’ve been having for a while now is UV mapping to Unreal. I’ve looked everywhere and I don’t feel I am any closer to being able to do it. So my question is, Is there anywhere which has a tutorial which shows you the process from UV mapping in 3DS or Zbrush and importing that into unreal and applying it all to the object? Thanks.

What i’m trying to get is the most realistic looking models I can into Unreal engine 4 basically.

Hi Jack-la-12,

Since I’m not entirely sure if you’ve done UV Unwrapping before you can will need to start in Max by applying a UV Unwrap modifier to your editable poly before anything else. The tutorials below should do a good job of getting you started. As you progress start looking at Pelt mapping for more complex objects and using a more uniform UV packing method to make sure you get the best use of your texture space.

Here are a couple of tutorials from YouTube to get you started. I’ve skimmed through them and they are what I would consider good starting points.
