Hi, whenever I open up my projects, I completely lose any sort of control over my pc, am unable to receive any sort of output from it (my mouse stops moving, the screen is completely frozen). I am then forced to hard reset my computer. How do I stop this? I put my project on a USB and tried to open it on a friends computer which worked, so what is wrong with my computer (or version of Unreal Engine 4.19), and how do I fix it?
Is it freezing on the splash screen at around 45% or so? If so, that’s normal, and means the editor is trying to compile shaders. Just let it sit overnight, then the editor will come up, and it will come up fast each subsequent invocation.
When loading a project try checking the performance tab in the task manager and see if anything is being takin up and also check for driver updates
