Hello, right I know this question might sound daft. But, I want to make sure I learn correctly. So, I want to model in blender but no idea what I will need to use etc. Does anyone have any information on how I can properly model for unreal engine? I want to make replicas of actual buildings for unreal engine. Is there plugings to know how high to make the buildings etc? Let me know, thank you!
Hey @RyanM2777!
So the thing is, the scale of an object doesn’t matter too much during creation in blender. I suggest taking a look here, there’s as much info as you will need on this post!
Do you know if theres any videos relating to this for blender? How to make an actual building for unreal engine?
One of the beautiful things about Unreal Engine:
You don’t have to make things special, it’s all in the importer. If you don’t change the scale options in blender, as mentioned in the above thread, you can simply change the scale import in the importer to make it whatever size you need. Some few folks make buildings small, for instance, for different reasons (Think Zoolander’s “School for Kids Who Don’t Read Good and want to Learn to do Other Stuff Good Too” (I hope I’m not being showing my age with that reference)). I promise you, make it however you’d like, it all comes down to the importer. If you want to move it with default import settings, set the scale in blender to 1:100 so cm becomes 1 unit.
