Hello to the forum, I was wondering if there are any videos on how to make gun meshes and player models for a fps, i am hoping to some day be able to make this game an online ww2 based fps, i dont know how to make meshes and i only know the basics, i have only used the programme for a couple of our but i get the jist. i really want to be able to use a custom made gun instead of paying like £50 for a pack that isn’t from the correct era. if anyone can help please msg me. or email me at
Thaks in advance to anyone that is willing to help.
well you have kind of already answered your own question. you don’t know how to build 3d models, so look up on you-tube how to build 3d models, there are literally 1000s of videos showing you how. that will help you understand the basics. id suggest if you are serious about it, start a 3d course at school, im halfway through an advanced diploma in game art, and iv learned more in the past year than 2 years of youtubeing
Get on Youtube and look up Unturned gun modding. Start with low-poly(low detail) models first and work your way up. Most people use Blender for Unturned because it’s really accessible.
Next, you may want to upgrade to something that costs money(education edition is probably free but you can’t use it commercially). Many quality tutorials cost money. Check out Gnomon Workshop and ChamferZone.
Cheers. Since you have no idea about any of this, it’ll take a long time for you to be making decent models. You might wanna just hire someone to help you. I’m sure there are people willing to help out if you can pitch them a great idea.(for free or otherwise)
As a high school student you qualify for the student version of Autodesk Maya, with which you can model and animate to your heart’s content (once you learn how).
If you decide to get that, you might look at Maya in 1 hour. The video covers the basics of Maya, and that user has series on creating characters from scratch (likes anthropomorphic mice apparently) .
There are quite a few tutorials on adding/changing out guns, but if you don’t know how to use a modeller or change an origin on a gun model, you will still need to learn some basic 3D modelling skills - or just use what someone else has already made…
