How do I make a textures dark parts render dark or stretch it in a material like a cylinder

This is a material that I have

I want to have it in front of the screen with a cylinder mesh or have it in a hud that is stretched that way. If I have it in front of my default pawn it shows too much light on the black parts.

I have this as a material that I could make into a material instance if it would work.

I am using version 4 and I cannot find these things

Texture Sample and if you look at the Details it will have a Texture open the texture up

What I thought of doing is lifting my camera up so the light does not shine on the mesh as much, but I still have a shadow.
