How do i make a destructible mesh better fall apart

Curretly I have a hollow crate set up as a destructible and while it already reacts to projectiles and breaks it doesnt really fall apart the way i want it to and i lack the know how to set it up correctly. I want to be able to break the crate with one hit of the projectile, but not break it upon walking into it. Additionally i would like if the Crate would remain where it is and not be able to move around. Upon breaking the crate it should not just crack up and sit there (which is the current situation) or launch itself into one direction. It should pretty much explode in a small 360° radius to make it really satisfying to look at, almost like a small explosion. However I have no clue how to make something like this, and even after hours of searching through youtube i have yet to find something this specific. If anyone reading this is able to help me or point me into the right direction i would be very grateful.
