I know it said in the forums that you needed to add the perameter “-applabel=Production-Preview” to your Launcher Shortcut, but…where do I add this? And is it talking about the Unreal Engine Launcher shortcut? Please help!
Right-Click the “Unreal Engine” shortcut on your Desktop, and then click on Properties. You’ll see a text field that says “Target:”, and inside of that field should be the path to your UE4 launcher (mine is “E:\Program Files\Unreal Engine\Launcher\Engine\Binaries\Win64\UnrealEngineLauncher.exe”). You’ll want to copy and paste -applabel=Production-Preview to be AFTER the furthest-right quotation mark, so at the very end. It should look like (“E:\Program Files\Unreal Engine\Launcher\Engine\Binaries\Win64\UnrealEngineLauncher.exe” -applabel=Production-Preview). Then go ahead and open up the launcher!
ParralexLLC is correct. Thank you!
Thank you so much!
Additional Notes:
“C:\Program Files\Unreal Engine\Launcher\Engine\Binaries\Win64\UnrealEngineLauncher.exe” -applabel=Production-Preview
- In the Target: path make sure you have one space between the last closing quote and the dash " -
- Hit Apply. An Administrator warning message may appear, hit Continue.
- You will then need to click the update install link in the UE Launcher.
This roundabout thing CAN’T still be the method in 2019? How to install a hotfix in 2019? EVERYTHING in Unreal has to be as ROUNDABOUT and NON INTUITIVE AS POSSIBLE.
