How do i go around making a visual novel with an in depth story.

Im taking large inspiration from the game Until Then and id like to know whats the most efficient and flexible way to create these levels with triggers and dialogue which trigger events to different scenes and cutscenes since im new to this genre of games. I know this game was made in godot but since ive been using UE for a while i was thinking it might be easier for me to do.

You can look into the Mountea Framework: Dialogue System on the market place. It can be a good starting point for a dialog heavy game.
