So, I am at my wit’s end. For a month or so, the toolbar highlighted in blue has been missing, meaning I can’t access ToD, map perspective view, and more unless I open a 2nd viewport; but even that has a compacted layout, so some stuff is still missing, and isn’t a sustainable fix. I’ve reinstalled UEFN. I’ve loaded all of the possible viewport layouts, changed the screen resolution, and I’ve filtered through every setting. I can’t think of anything else, and it’s really affecting my will and ability to work in UEFN. If anyone has some weird solution, please let me know. Thank you in advance.
Hi @phijappa
Here are some possible solutions for your issue:
Try closing the Viewport and reopening it by going to Window - Viewports and closing the current Viewport, then opening a new one from the same menu. From the same Window tab, you can also manually enable any missing toolbars or panels (like Outliner, Details, etc.).
You can also try resetting the Editor Layout by going to Window - Load Layout - Default Editor Layout. This should restore the original layout, including the top toolbar with Time of Day, Perspective, and more.
Lastly, it’s worth checking Windows display scaling, even though it doesn’t look changed in your screenshot:
- Right-click on the desktop - Display settings
- Make sure the scaling is set to 100%
- Restart UEFN after applying the change.
Hope it Helps!
Hi! Thank you for your help - unfortunately, there was no fix here. This is such a weird issue - I am so lost!
Yeah, it’s definitely a weird issue , since the previous steps didn’t work, here are two more things you could try:
First, try verifying UEFN files through the Epic Games Launcher.
-
Open the Epic Games Launcher.
-
Go to the Library section on the left-hand menu.
-
Find Unreal Editor for Fortnite .
-
Click on the three dots icon and select Manage.
-
Select the Verify option.
Then, you can also try this:
-
Close UEFN completely.
-
Open File Explorer and paste this into the address bar:
"%localappdata%\UnrealEditor\Saved\Config\WindowsEditor -
Inside that folder, delete the file EditorLayout.ini and if it exists, also EditorPerProjectUserSettings.ini.
- When you restart UEFN, the editor will regenerate those files with default settings, and hopefully restore the layout.
Hope one of these helps!
Hi, thank you so much, this worked, I am over the moon!!! Honestly, knowing me, this was probably my fault but I guess I’ll never know… Sending a digital standing ovation to you, you’re a star :]
I’m so glad one of these worked for you!
Don’t worry, these layout issues happen sometimes.
If you can, please mark the question as solved so it can help anyone with the same issue.
