How do I get more logging from this failed compilation?

We are building Unreal using Fastbuild and our builds are only 80% reliable. We can rebuild exactly the same changelist from our perforce, on the same machine and get a different result. This insanity is causing us real production problems.

We have enabled the


-distverbose

flag from fastbuild and now we can see we have some connection issues but these are preexisting. Getting a 0x1/error code 5 error message without an error line means we are struggling to resolve this until we have learned how to output the error. Does anyone have any experience in cranking up the logging while building?
