How do I get a character to swim, without water physics volume?

   I want my character to swim using the water plugin, so that he is directly effected by the waves. As I am developing a surfing game & the direct effect is important. I attemped to use pontoons on the character however,  when the character collision is set to CharacterMesh the pontoons do not work. Also if I set the collisions to any other type ex. PhysicsActor or anyother on the list the character just flops over.

Just no.

If you want to make a surfing game you need to learn sruff and make your own water simulations.

You canNot rely on engine sh*t and “hope it somewhat works”. It never will.

Search the forums, I probably have 10 different posts explaining how to do water physics in different ways.

And maybe look into using Nvidia’s waterworks directly before you even think about the rest.
