How Do I Fix Error Code 0xc0000605?

I recently switched to a new computer, those tidbits here.

OS: Windows 11 Home
CPU: Intel Core i9 12th Gen
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Ti
Memory: 32GB

I keep getting this error code on start up. I have already Verified The Installation, Reinstalled Unreal Engine (5.1 and 5.0), and Reinstalled The Launcher.

This is what I get when I try to launch it from Unreal.

Assertion failed: Handle [File:D:\build++UE5\Sync\Engine\Source\Developer\ShaderCompilerCommon\Private\DXCWrapper.cpp] [Line: 59] Failed to load module: …/…/…/Engine/Binaries/ThirdParty/ShaderConductor/Win64/dxil.dll

Hey @Kyriod2!

Check out this solved thread from another user with the same issue you are having:

Hey thanks! I actually did figure it out. I thought I had everything updated. But it turns out there’s an “advanced options” in the windows 11 update section that for some reason doesn’t update with the standard stuff. I updated all that stuff, restarted, verified the files just to make sure, and now it all seems to work. My project is still booting as I write this, but it normally crashed within 5 seconds of launching so I think I’m in the clear.

Edit: Just for sake of sanity of anyone looking at this in the future. Update is 100% what fixed it.

Thank you bro!

Hey, I’m having the same problem, but when I go to the advanced options, nothing appears to be updated, what exactly did you update there?
