How do I fill stadium seats with animated characters?

Hi all,

I have a scene of a tennis court that has around 400 empty seats.
I’m a complete beginner when it comes to Unreal but have experience in Blender etc.

In Blender, I have the same scene with a collection of characters that take the position of every chair in the scene using geometry nodes. (The render time in Blender is too ridiculous).

How can I use Unreal’s tools to replicate this scenario?
In essence, I want to fill up all the seats in the tennis court with a selection of animated characters.

I’ve looked at tools like Niagara, MassAI, Mass Crowd, etc but Unreal is very complicated…

Hope someone can help!

Thanks,

hi,
must be your lucky day… there is a new tutorial about baking animation to texture

this should fill your stadium…

hope it helps you

cheers :vulcan_salute:

Not that there is anything bad with that, but id suggest an alembic geometry cache over it.
They work faster/better than the shaders…

I did have a look at the AnimToTexture but could not figure it out…
Guess I’ll give it another go, I was hoping there was a more “blender-like” solution.

Thanks!

UE5 has support for crowd simulations and this would be a good starting point.

Just look for other tutorials on Youtub for UE5
