How do I download Content Examples?

I am totally new to UE4 and have 4.7.3
I see the marketplace and a selection of paid and free content but no Content Examples as mentioned in the various help documents.

Thanks,

Rob

You need to click on Learn tab and scroll down. Now you can download all Epic stuf and simple gamegames. I hope that helps

Thanks!!

Rob, RatAs1171 is correct, you go to the Unreal Launcher, click on the learn tab, and can download examples from there.

There is ONE gotcha that confused me for a good 15 minutes as a new user. If your launcher loses connectivity, it may show you logged in but unless there is a green circle by your account name, you’re actually offline. If that happens, even if your computer has connectivity and you’re able to google questions like this one, all of the items in the Learn tab will just link to the documentation! I thought I was going crazy.

Make sure your launcher is not just logged in to your account but is actually online. If so, each example screenshot will have a little display beneath it with the word “Contains” and a white cloud and a download icon. Clicking on the screenshot will go to a marketplace page where the cost of the item is Free. Click on the “Free” to download.

If clicking on the screenshot opens the documentation, your launcher is offline even if you appear to be logged in to your account. Hope that helps others avoid the same confusion I had reading this answer…

Thank you!

okay well I think this question was not answered very well in my opinion.
so I open my unreal engine/epic games client thing from the desktop. and then I click on the learn tab.
Immediately I see what looks like “content examples”.
Which is what I’m looking for. But as soon as I click on it it shoots me to my Internet browser and on to this page.

and so I look through the page to see if I can find a download link and I find nothing.
And so I search on these forums to see if I can find an answer.
And the best thing that anyone has come up with is simply “click on the learn tab and then click on contact examples.” which I know now is technically right…
but that didn’t help me any because that’s exactly what I thought I was doing at the time.

it turns out the learn tab is a bit misleading.
those first things you see right when you click on it… they are links to documentation and things.
And you can tell that they are because when you hover over them they have a little square with an arrow that appears over top of the image.

So really what you need to scroll down until you find the actual (and very similarly looking) content examples download.

I think they really need to do something to differentiate those specific squares from the actual download squares.

Thanks HAL10000, I was having the exact issue you describe - kept clicking on the URL.
Cheers for the explanation.

I love you

Thank you, that really helped.

Thanks, it’s really helped.

There’s another trap, I was trapped for a few minutes, looking at ma connection and al sort of search

In the Learn Tab, there’s a “Content Exemple Directory” which go to the web site, and another one “ContentExamples” where you can downlonad.

That’s the really good answer I need, thank you!

非常感谢,让我找了半天

fantastic

Wooot, Awesome thank you

Thank you!

+1. Thank you, this was my problem as well.

Thank you!

This does not answer the question for Linux, which doesn’t have a launcher. Could you, would you, please, download those content examples and host them elsewhere, so linux users can use them too?
