How do I downgrade engine version?

I had a game idea I wanted to sketch out but clicked the update button.

Now my engine is V5.6.1 and it can’t launch/open a project at all - blank project causes d3d gpu timeout when 5.6 did not.

So how do I downgrade back to Engine v 5.6? I’m sure if I can do that I can upgrade later when it’s stable again.

Hello there @sh0dude!

No worries, that’s an easy fix. First, from the Epic Launcher, remove the 5.6 install, using the dropdown menu option:

After that, click on the + button on the left, and that will create a new install, just choose the version you need, and the download will begin:

In the future, you might need to update your existing projects to newer engine versions. When the time comes, use the following UE doc to follow the process:

Well that’s unfortunate, I don’t know why it would be set up like this but I can’t select 5.6.0, only 5.6.1 is an option.

I wanted to try out 5.6.0 so I guess I’ll just wait until it’s stable again. Thanks for the tip.
