I have a character with a movement blendspace idle, walk, run, classic. I have an attack animation swinging a sword that is standing in place. If I want to make a swinging sword that works with a movement blendspace how do I set that up?
I thought I could make a second blendspace with attack swing as the top and movement at the bottom in Maya, but it gets tricky. Idle 75 frames, walk 30, run 20, swinging sword 45. Thats not easy to combine in Maya, so I was thinking maybe there’s a way to set the animation to take the legs from the movement blendspace?
In the animation modes there is a node for that.
The image shows where i took the Hold pistol animation and the battle rifle blend space both in the animation starter pack and blended them by bone
It you select which bone you want them to change…i think mine is set at spine_01
i did have to change the holding pistol to be at a different angle because of how the character stands in that pose made “forward” a bit different. (like 10 degrees or something)
But when that animation is on, the bottom half below my chosen bone acts just like the BS for battle riffle jog. But the upper body is in the Hold pistol
