How do I change Editor Preferences?

I’m not used to the way of moving the camera in the UE editor, so i searched for a way to change it. The documentation says there are many customizations, but it has no such options in the program! Here’s the link: Unreal Editor Preferences | Unreal Engine 5.1 Documentation

You can simply compare the picture of the Editor Preferences window with the customization topics. The Editor Preferences show the topics “General”, “Level Editor”, “Content Editor” and so on, while the documentation says “Controls”, “Viewport Look and Feel”, “Editor Look and Feel”, “Level Editing” and so on.

Are these options hidden somewhere else?

Hi ,

For moving camera in level editor, go to:
Editor Preferences > Keyboard Shortcuts > Viewport Navigation.
The most interesting shortcuts are Backward, Forward, Left and Right.

Hi ,

I can assure you that most, if not all, of these options are still there but the category names have been changed since that documentation was made. The camera movement is listed under ‘Level Editor → Viewports’. I’ll look into having the documentation changed to reflect the new updates. Thank you for bringing this to our attention.

If you need any more help, please let me know.

Have a nice day
