How do I add a background to my main menu?

I’ve made a simple main menu with Play, Options and Quit buttons, and now I want to add a background to make it look nicer but I can’t figure out how to add it. Can someone help me please? Thanks.

In your widget setup, add an image widget to your widget and place it on a Z-level that is lower than your main widgets, then it will appear behind them.
