As seen in the GIF below, how did Fortnite’s ODM gear cables spawn in a desired wavey shape? Is it a particle effect that gets switched out by a cable as it become taught?
it is probably beam emmiter. Does this cable bend (i mean by it that in gif it looks like all waves are following line, can they follow some other shape/curve?).
Think about this problem as two separate parts:
- one is visuals that try to fool you
- second is actual line/curve that is invisible but does actual gameplay mechanics
And btw most effects in games are simple, with something on top designed to fool you.
