How could I implement a NI-DAQ into unreal engine

I am working on a project which requires my Unreal Engine programme to create an output for my NI-DAQ and for my NI-DAQ to make an input into the UE programme but it doesn’t seem many people have had similar projects that I could use for help. I have tried using the python editor function plugin to code with python but I believe this wasn’t the best route due to issues with the NI-DAQ.
The NI-DAQ code that I have used in MATLAB requires a session to be created first, and then a trigger and listener are added to detect any input from the NI-DAQ. Once the trigger detects an input, a command occurs such as “Hello World” I want this command to affect my UE programme but I am unsure where to start.
