I just made a copy of the third person controller and i want to modify and tweak some settings on the duplicate but when i move the camera in the blueprint editor viewport both character controller have the camera moving simultaneously just like they are acting as instances so is there a way to make it unique so i can change settings on one without affecting the duplicate?
Believe it or not googling this for another 2 hours without any success and even typing duplicate in UE4 documentation yield no result!
i have the same problem except i created everything from the ground up using the models and animation of the same Blueprint , i’ve been trying for 4 hours + and nothing have been fixed the camera keeps doing weird stuff .
oh just found what we were doing wrong
when you create spring arm make sure to make sure to check paw control rotation
Select Spring arm > Detail tap > Camera Settings > ( Use Paw Control Rotation )
make sure it’s on , have fun and i hope that’s it
Hi user,
I just use ctrl+w in the view and then select thirdperson2 and when i try to edit the camera in the blueprint editor viewport both cameras move simultaneously just like instances do in 3ds max.
I have Use Pawn Rotation checked and it is not working and i am getting desperate since i should not have to search that hard for such basics operations.
I cannot believe it i just had to copy the thirdperson controller(ctrl+c) in content browser/blueprints into another new folder and then i drag it in view and again open blueprint editor and i can edit settings without affecting the other character controller!
Please Unreal team put this in documentation since it is truly basic stuff.
I still have another problem if i want to test the second thirdperson controllers it does not work since i can only use the first one and not the copy one, so how does one take control of thirdperson controller copy?
