Hi, im new to using unreal 5 and was wanting to make a scene with short grass. Ive used the MW Landscape and is there anyway to make the crass smaller? Ive created an island but the textures are huge compared to the island. I tried enlarging my island, however the materials just enlarge with the island object. Can someone please help? Thanks
Hi @HeTheFool, if you’re using the MW Landscape Auto Material, the grass you’re seeing is likely not hand-painted with the Foliage Tool, but rather automatically generated using the Landscape Grass Output node in the material.
That means the size of the grass is controlled through a separate asset called a Grass Type.
Here’s how to resize it:
Open the MW Landscape material (probably named something like M_MW_Landscape_Master).
Locate the node called LandscapeGrassOutput.
You’ll see several entries like MW_Grass_01, MW_Grass_02, etc.
Click the small magnifying glass next to the Grass Type to open the Grass Type asset.
In that asset, you’ll find Scale (Min/Max) settings lower those values (e.g., from 1.0/1.5 to 0.4–0.6) to shorten the grass.
Save and recompile the material the changes should take effect instantly in your landscape.

Hello @HeTheFool, I apologize if the information I provided wasn’t helpful. Let me ask you a few questions for better understanding. What kind of MW landscape do you have? Does the landscape come with foliage, or did you add it yourself?
If you manually placed the foliage, then you have this option available in the painting section
