I am a published UEFN creator and I would like to request access to the Verse /UnrealEngine.com/WebAPI module for my project.
My goal is to build a persistent global leaderboard for my island, with both a Monthly Top 10 and an Overall Top 10 based on player wins.
The leaderboard should work across different public server instances and should continue to include players even when they are no longer in the current lobby or are offline.
I have already reviewed the official Verse WebAPI documentation and understand that this functionality is intended for licensed users. However, I could not find any public information explaining how a regular UEFN creator can apply for this access or what requirements need to be met.
Standard Verse persistence with weak_map(player, …) is not sufficient for this use case because it does not provide a centrally synchronized leaderboard across separate public server instances. This is why I would like to use WebAPI together with my own secure backend.
I also regularly stream my island and organize community events and giveaways. A reliable global leaderboard would be very useful for creating longer-term competitions, improving player engagement, and allowing players to compete for leaderboard positions across different public sessions instead of only within a single server.
I already contacted Epic Games Support about this request. They told me that UEFN-related inquiries are not handled by Player Support and that I should submit my question here in the community forums.
Could an Epic staff member please clarify:
Is /UnrealEngine.com/WebAPI currently available to regular UEFN creators?
Is there an application or approval process for becoming an eligible/licensed user?
If yes, where can I submit that application?
Are there any technical, security, account, or project requirements that need to be met before access can be granted?
