How Can I Make A Homing Attack Like What's in the Sonic The Hedgehog series?

I’m very much new to Unreal Engine, and have had interest in making a game. The idea is of a game similar in gameplay to the Sonic the Hedgehog series, and in particular Sonic Unleashed. My question is how do I go about doing a homing attack type of mechanic in Unreal Engine 5? I’ve been trying a few things but can’t get them to work properly. I’ve tried doing sphere and box traces, but always end up messing it up or just not knowing how it’s supposed to be connected.
