As you can see in this video, the physics of the boxes do strange things in some situations (minute 0:18).
Can this be improved? To answer your question, yes it can be improved. Two things that would help you get a better answer here would
- Show us your constraint setup if you have any. If you are free styling the physics, then 1 way to improve it would be to add spring constraints or any type of constraint.
- Tell us your expected output. Is the box supposed to fall down but with more weight, or is it not supposed to fall? or do you want to have free body physics, but maybe tune the weight?
Hope that helps!
Meant to post this as a comment. My bad.
- This is the setup of the physics and collision variables of the box (images attached)
- My expectations are that the boxes have a real behavior to what could be a generic box of 20 kg.
In the video you see some strange movement during the tour and it looks strange.
Thanks!!
Any idea?
Thanks!
I am not entirely sure what is tipping the boxes off. Maybe the speed of the vehicle is too much. But something you could try is adding a physics joint constraint between the vehicle and first layer of box and then the lower layer to upper layer boxes and so on. Essentially this will help the box stay in place more and not fall off. Further, you can specific a break force limit. That way, if the force is truly high the boxes can fall apart.
You can also try adjusting the weights, maybe make it heavier and also adding physics material between boxes and vehicle so that the friction could hold it more in place. Although I doubt that would handle the specific case you have.
