I have a model that I have been working in for a while and I need all the camera angles that are in the project. The issue is that I have imported and updated the file from an ArchiCAD model. At some point the direct connection changed and I now have two versions of the imported elements in the Twinmotion file. I am able to edit and adjust all the new current items but the old items are fixed and I am not able to delete or edit any of them. This is making my file unnecessarily large as these old assets are replaced by the new ones.
Hello ,
Thank you for posting in the community regarding switching from the legacy plugin to the new plugin Datasmith. We have recently created an article to help with that workflow and your options. Please reference this article: https://twinmotionhelp.epicgames.com/s/article/Switching-from-the-Legacy-Plugin-to-the-Datasmith-Exporter-plugin-Workflow
The reason you are unable to delete the imported element is because that was one of the limitations from the previous plugin. Reference Option 2 on how to update with the Legacy plugin using an empty 3D view, steps 4 through 7. Let me know if you have any issues or follow-up questions.
Kind regards,
Vincent B.
Unfortunately I no longer have the legacy plugin installed so I am not able to access and turn off the original elements. As for recreating the images and videos I shudder to think of how I would do that, my project has almost 200 camera views and almost 100 videos that have specific purposes. I have to have the camera be exact as they drop into powerpoint presentations for the project and in allot of instances they perfectly align with photographs of the existing conditions. Sounds like I am going to just have to continue to use the file with all the duplicate data. At least I can turn off the layers to make them go away visually I just wish I could remove them to reduce file size and help speed up saving and opening.
