How can i check forward on the left analog stick is pushed at the same time of button press?

I have an attack set up which by default is dropped behind the player. i am looking to get a situation where if the item is used when the player is pushing forward on the stick and the item is thrown forwards instead.

I am struggling to find a way to put in the left stick Y axis as a branch condition for when i trigger the attack to check which way the item needs to be deployed.

What would be the best way to approach this?
