I need to import a lot of small assets. Since they are all static meshes I don’t see the reason the “import asset” window pops up all the time? Is there no option or plugin that solves that?
Btw, thanks. But it is not the solution if it comes to folders. Also not been able to import grouped meshes as they are is also a big flaw. This makes WORLD CREATION to a LIFE TIME JOB.
Hi @Antigollos.
Some additional information: Do you have the original project? Are you trying to migrate assets from one project to another? Take a look at this thread and check if this is more along the lines of what you are looking for.
I hope this solution is what you are looking for if the above questions are true.
wow, so many cases! Thanks, this is also not my problem. No, I am try to migrate my unity assets to unreal, to finally say good bye to that big development pit. However, these are also nothing more than FBX files coming from everywhere.
1st, I can’t drop static meshes simply with all their folders and one settings into Unreal without getting:
A: the import window to accept the choice all the time (for static meshes everywhere the same setting - senseless)
B#1: A combined mesh where I have to create a specfic numbered multi-sub-material of the combined meshes, but 1st I have to find out how many materials the combine mesh now has - IF I don’t want to get a mess with objects.
… or…
B#2: I get the whole mess in little separate objects, where I can kill myself, because this should be a grouped mesh, where every part makes sense, because it is normal in every 3D software, from where those FBX files come from. That’s the idea of the FBX file, to keep the structure as it is, plus camera, rig, animation data etc.
O_O I guess now you might understand me, but now I think you can’t help me anymore xD
Also, my thoughts are: ok, shall it be like that, but aren’t there plugins from dev’s who might have a solution to that? Because it’s simply crazy, from the workload and from the organization side. This kills me.
