How are you supposed to add foliage?

I recently install unreal engine 4 because I wanted to make landscapes of different scenes and places but I’ve run into a problem apparently nobody explains how to do,
adding foliage.

I downloaded this: Quixel Grass

because I thought you could actually use it in unreal engine, but all that’s in the zip file is Screenshot - 647bf28ed6dc55aa543de3204de1a80e - Gyazo

How are you supposed to actually use these? I tried dragging them on the the “+ Drop Foliage” box and nothing happens

On youtube everyone already has their foliage there but none of them ever even explain how to get it there. All of them are labled meshes in the video but how do you get the mesh!?!?!

I’ve googled grass meshes for ue4 and all the downloads are still just jpgs, jsons and whatever the hell exr files are.

I looked to see the asset designation like #Atlas or 3D and there was none. So assuming this is an atlas here is a good link.

I havent used them yet as I am new myself and dont get much time to play. My understanding is that it isnt a 3d mesh but is like an overlay w/ transparency like leaves and branches creating foliage. Create plane and apply it. more to it of course but as far as I know this is it.

Quixel Speargrass this for example is designated as #3DPlant in the lower rt corner on the main page, this should be an actual mesh. Also if you dont see what you need in megascans the free assets that can be had w/ Unreal should have some 3d grass.
https://quixel.com/megascans/library?returnTo=%2Fassets%2Fofivdfoh2&search=grass&search=3dplant try this and search for grass and 3dplant and you will see the 3d meshes of grass
Hope this helps,

to get quality stuff can i use any of the freebie stuff and if so what is suggested https://soundcloud.com/user-637311263
