Houdini Boolean Operations

Anyone using Houdini have any issues using the Boolean operations going into other programs, including Unreal?

Just curious before I get to far into following some tutorials if I am learning bad practices, I have always been told (and from testing) to avoid Boolean operations. I know I had trouble with other game engines years ago with Collada and FBX transfers exploding on me.

I use Blender, but I assume a lot of what I know holds for Houdini.

Modelling purists always advise using booleans, because of the damage they can do to geometry. But I know it’s absolutely fine in Blender, as long as you do any cleaning up afterwards.

Thanks, I should have added. I worked for Boeing for 32 years and we had trouble going between CAD packages where Boolean was used. I did conversions and it would literally blow up STEP files so I was curious if it had issues within soft modeling packages and conversions.

Let me add. Boolean was still done, but it had to be with tools like you mention to clean up after wards like hole vs subtracting a tube.
