Hello, I got very detailed model, about 700M triangles, because it is too big i simplified it to 39M just to see the mesh, the i simplified it again down to 10, 5 and 2M triangles and at these level of detail I get holes in the model that don’t get texturized nor recognized as holes(they can’t be fixed).
It looks like that the more i downsample from a “degraded generation” the more holes I get.
So if i simplify from 39M to 10M I get…let’s say just a cople of holes, if I go from 10 to 5 and from 5 to 2 I get many holes but If i go from 700M to 2M I get less holes overall.
I waste days trying to fix this issue with no luck.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Hi Elettrone78,
have you simplified 700M model to 39M in one step? We recommend to do 50% incremental steps. With such big simplification there could be some errors on the model.
Also, is it possible to filter those holes parts and then use close holes tool?
I simplified from 700M to 39M for mesh visibility in one step and nothing happened, then going from 39M to 10M or less creates holes that do not get recognized by the CLOSE HOLES feature.
I didn’t try your approach, let me try then I will get back with some feedback.
Thanks meanwhile.
