Hello everyone,
I’m not here to post a fancy, corporate studio ad. I’m here to speak sincerely from a developer’s perspective about my bottlenecks, my struggles, and my passion.
For about 2.5 years, I’ve been constantly researching, experimenting, learning, and mercilessly throwing away months of work simply because it “didn’t feel quite right,” all to bring the game in my head to life. My current Unreal Engine 5 action horror project, “Blood and Silence”, is the actual game rising from the ashes of those scrapped attempts.
Let me be clear from the start: I have zero paranoia about “someone stealing my idea.” I can talk openly with anyone about every detail of the project, what I’m doing, and the lore. Because I believe that in game development, the real deal isn’t a dry ‘idea’; it’s about how you handle it, how you execute it, and ultimately, what kind of feeling you can deliver to the player. I’m not doing this out of greed for money; I’m driven by the passion to convey the message I want to tell and the dark atmosphere in my mind in the most accurate way possible.
Especially now, as I get closer to the Steam Next Fest in June and my planned release, I’ve started to seriously feel the weight of being a solo developer and that ■■■■ ‘perfectionism’. As one person, I can’t reach the exact same high quality in every single area, and I absolutely refuse to let this game remain a simple, half-baked project.
I have no budget right now, so I can’t offer a salaried position. But I really need people who say, “I want to create something with passion too,” “Let’s do the best we can in our own capacity,” or “I want my effort to be a part of this game”—people who genuinely love sharing knowledge.
I’m specifically looking for companions who can support me and guide me when I stumble in these areas:
-
Animation & Cinematics (My biggest bottleneck and where I want to learn the most): I’m not just looking for someone to say “here, use this animation.” I need a mentor/teammate who will add vision to my cinematic approach, camera angles, and character movements, saying, “Look mate, here’s the logic and the practical industry way to do this,” and actually teach me the ropes. -
Optimization: Someone who knows the guts of Unreal Engine to help me tidy up the performance side and overcome technical hurdles. -
Visual & Cover Art Design: Support with the logo and Steam capsule art that reflects the dark, tense soul of the game. -
Localization: To be completely honest, AI is practically acting as my teammate right now, but I refuse to rely completely on it. I want real human localization to truly capture the emotion, context, and nuance of the game in different languages. -
Playtesting: Brutally honest playtesters who will play the game and say, “This part sucks, this is great, that mechanic is boring.”
What Can I Offer? I can’t give a salary, but I can proudly put your name in the credits. If the game achieves commercial success in the future, revenue sharing (Rev-share) is definitely on the table. Most importantly, I offer an ego-free, sincere working environment with no hidden secrets, entirely focused on creating and doing our absolute best together.
If you want to share this passion, test the game, or just say, “Let me show you a bit about how this animation stuff works,” please feel free to leave a comment under this post or reach out to me directly via email at beratcevik@netrigogames.tr.
Thank you so much to everyone who took the time to read this.
