HLODS not working in UE 5.2

I have been struggling for days trying to figure out how to get hlod’s to work for my landscape but everything i do end up failing. Is unreal itself broken or am i doing something wrong? When i tried to make an hlod from scratch it literally continued “building” for 37 hours before i gave up and stopped it. I figured that it was just looping and nothing really was happening. When i tried to use the default HLOD_Instancing it also fails.

I even created a new open world level and simulated and the landscape hlods were working perfectly. So i deleted them and tried to build new ones and it also fails. Am i doing something wrong? Is there a certain way to make hlods? I’m new to this and its beyond demotivating.

It’s really broken right now, not working for me either. I will just need to focus on other tasks until they get these sorted.

My HLOD builds were failing as well in 5.2. I saw on a reddit post where you have to disable Virtual Texture support in project settings, build your HLODs and then re-enable the VT support. I’m in the process of building them now but so far it has not crashed.

Yes, it seemed to work for me.

Hello. I’ve been struggling with this problem for a week now, I can’t create HLOD even with VT disabled, could there be a problem in my hardware?
