I built HLODs on a completely new map. With just a simple landscape on it. When I build HLODs on that, it does not give me the “Build Complete” Menu anymore, rather it just disappears. Does this mean that it got built?
Been so long since you successfully built…
Yes, it should be built, the no indication thing is a bit hmmm
How to troubleshoot your map…
If you have time
Disclude every prop from HLOD, try to build HLOD, if it fails the problem is not a prop, if it works then the problem is a prop and add them back section by section.
make snapshots between.
Also the value of Virtual Memory is far underrated, I scored a SSD and now I use about 211GB of it for the windows paging file, HLODs build much faster, try to set as much as you can.
yeah it has been probably a month since being able to build hlods, and with me constantly trying, the majority of the world doesn’t have functioning HLODs anymore…
That sounds like a plan, I will try that as soon as I send this message!
It also just recently got a new SSD and transferred all my Fortnite files onto it. How would I use it for the windows paging file?
good news, but also bad news…
so removing everything from hlods worked… but now I don’t know how to find what it is
I got the weird thing again where I didn’t get a message saying it was built, but I didn’t get an error message lol
OK Now add stuff back to the HLOD in batches, test HLOD building each time, don’t worry about using a new HLOD layer, just use the same one.
When it stops working whatever you added last has the problem in it and then you can narrow down your search.
The virtual memory is located for Windows 10, in Advanced System Settings in the Performance Section, Advanced tab.
Look for Virtual memory, then change the settings to suit, let me know if you need more help with that
