HISM in LODs

I converted a static mesh in a scene in UE5 into an HISM. I found that when I enabled Nanite, everything worked fine. However, when I disabled Nanite and enabled LODs, my draw calls increased significantly to around 20,000. This seems to indicate that my HISM is not working, and the normals of all meshes using HISM appear to be incorrect. Lighting rendering fails, and the overall model appears black until I checked ‘Reverse Culling,’ which solved the problem. What could be causing this issue?
