Hiring Remote VFX Artist At Blue Isle Studios

Blue Isle Studios is looking for a candidate with an extensive background in UI workflows and has experience shipping at least one successful AAA console or PC game title. Our ideal candidate is someone who is passionate about user-centric design, and recognizes UI as an art form. Your skills and responsibilities would include visual design for all user interface elements ranging from menus to in-game HUD, and implementation of the UI front end in Unreal Engine 4. **This is a full-time contract, remote position (minimum 6 months). **

Responsibilities:

  • Work directly with the programming team, implementing the UI front-end on nodes exposed in blueprints
  • Design mockups in Adobe Photoshop to be implemented in UMG
  • Iterate on UMG designs based on user feedback and testing

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years as a graphic designer, UX designer, UI designer, interaction designer or similar
  • Experience and examples creating software application, web or game related user interfaces
  • Experience working in Unreal 4’s UMG
  • Strong knowledge and experience of blueprints in Unreal 4
  • Can prototype ideas using high or low fidelity techniques in Adobe Photoshop
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong ability to self-manage

Pluses:

  • C++ coding experience
  • Experience working with open world multiplayer games
  • Design and/or technical related diploma or degree

Blue Isle Studios is looking for a candidate with extensive experience in art workflows from shipping one or more successful AAA console or PC game title. Our ideal candidate is someone passionate about bridging the gap between two very different disciplines and seeing it all brought together into one cohesive end-product. This is a full-time contract, remote position (minimum 6 months).

Responsibilities

  • Creation of handcrafted visual effects to be used in real-time game assets
  • Technical setup and integration of VFX in-engine
  • Technical setup and integration of animations and blendtrees in-engine
  • Work with programming staff to integrate code-heavy artistic assets such as player models, weapons and and abilities

Requirements

  • Experience working with Unreal Engine 4
  • Shipped at least one title using any version of Unreal
  • Experience in 3DSMax, Maya and integration of assets in Unreal 4
  • Strong experience with Cascade, Niagara and Persona
  • Experience with Blueprints in Unreal Engine
  • Strong communication skills with both artists and programmers
  • Minimum 3 years working in game development

Pluses

  • C++ coding experience
  • Experience working on multiplayer games
  • Computer science or related degree
