High Resolution Rendering - VRAM, Tiles troubleshooting

I am working on rendering realistic product shooting and I am willing to render in 8K.

My laptop embarks a RTX 4080 with 12GO VRAM DDR6.

What i’ve noticed is that I am using the Deferred renderer, using Lumen, with no High resolution module and in 8K, Unreal Engine crash with telling me that I don’t have enough GPU memory. OK Fair
Then using the High Resolution module with 2 Tiles, everything works fine.

My trouble starts when I wants to increase the number of tiles, I don’t mind taking more time to render but to reduce the VRAM usage like this I can increase my spatial samples but if I do so, passing from 2 to 4, make the same issue, using too much VRAM (i have just increased the number of tiles), 2 to 8 same issue.

Tiles are not supposed to make the VRAM usage less impacted to be able to render high resolution screenshot ? because i don’t understand it would crash if i use more tiles …



I have the same issue. If I set the high res render tile to higher than 2, it gives a gpu error, even if the resolution is 1080p.
