I can still work in the other softwares (except for Photoshop), but this concerns me. I often work with very large texture size (at least 2k).
Hey Tin,
Thank you for this report. I am looking into this issue, but will need some more details. What are your computer’s complete hardware specs? Are you on BETA4? Is this happening every time you launch or only when you launch directly into a project? Any additional details will be appreciated for my investigation.
Thank you,
Alexander
I have posted about this issue, in the past. I think one possible solution is to automatically susped process while window is not focused. CryEngine works in similiar way. When windows is not focused process is suspended and is using only minium resources.
It would be beneficial for future, as lot’s of player like to play in Windowed mode and “run” game in background, while they do something else.
I looked into this and can confirm that your request is in our database
Hi Alexander,
Here is my spec:
_ CPU: core i7 - 3770
_ RAM: 32 gb
_ GPU: Geforce GTX680
_ OS: Windows 8.Pro 64bit.
I’m using version: 1808360 (Is it Beta4?). This problem occurs every single time I use Rocket. It consumes about 30% at launch and gradually moves up to 41 - 50% even when I’m doing nothing. It’s because of Windows 8 perhaps? It’s fairly new for softwares.
Thanks for your help.
I get something similar on a fresh install of windows 7 so it might just be that Rocket requires the CPU. It does update the FPS counter on the UI the entire time its open, perhaps that has something to do with it that it doesnt actually ever idle.
Hey Tin,
For the next Beta, our devs have been focusing heavily on the editor’s power use. It is an overhaul that should help with this type of issue.
We just had a group of testers run though a Win8 pass for the next Beta build, so I asked them to test to see if this issue is occurring for them. A tester on a weaker system than yours confirmed to me that it is not occurring for them in the internal build. This does not mean there is a guarantee that your spike will no longer occur, but there is a good chance.
I would like to ask that you please update to the next Beta when it is released and then let us know if it is still occurring.
Thank you,
Alexander
This is still happening to me. I’m currently running 4.4 and my CPU spikes really high.
Hi Angelocracy,
This is an archived post from our beta users. Here is a link to your new question.
Thanks, TJ
