How can I change the static mesh of a portapotty? I would like to create my version of the porta potty but have no Idea.
Hi Aimjel, Welcome to the Forums.
Good question. Eventually I think we’ll be able to change the Static Mesh of the Static mesh component. But for now, I found it was possible to encapsulate the HidingProp/Portapotty in another mesh, and turn off collision of the encapsulating mesh.
Also, if you need something smaller, or the door clips out of the mesh when opening, you are able to change the ‘Visible’ variable. (You’d need to do this on the door as well)
Let us know if anything is unclear.
The steps arent very clear to me. How do I start on encapsulating the portapotty into another mesh?
By encapsulating, I just mean dragging a different mesh into the scene, and placing it in the same location as the hiding prop.
In the image above, the portapotty is inside of that cube.
The encapsulating mesh probably has collision, so you’d want to turn off collision so that you can still interact with the hiding prop beneath.
