Hey Bryan,

If you are using Twinmotion version 2021.1.4 - 2022.2.3​, feel free to download Datasmith 5.0.3 here:

  • https://unrealstudio.epicgames.com/UnrealDatasmithSketchUpExporter_5_0_3.msi

If you're using Twinmotion 2023.1.2, you'll have to use Datasmith 5.2 here:

  • https://unrealstudio.epicgames.com/UnrealDatasmithSketchUpExporter_5_2_1.msi

In case any, make sure that the installer is going to a directory that you have full permissions to. Please let me know if you still receive that error when opening the .MSI installer and I'd be happy to help further.

Understood, can you try installing the following tool to try and uninstall the old version?

  • https://support.microsoft.com/en-gb/topic/fix-problems-that-block-programs-from-being-installed-or-removed-cca7d1b6-65a9-3d98-426b-e9f927e1eb4d

That has worked in the past with users encountering a similar problem.

Hi Sky.

Thanks for responding. I tried all you suggested but it still does not work.

It appears that there is an older version, 5_0_2(1) that was installed that needs to be uninstalled for the newer version to work but no matter what I do I cannot get the old version to be uninstalled from the computer. Neither from Control Panel, Apps, or Registry. It is very frustrating.

I don't know if you can provide any further assistance on this but thanks again for reaching out.
