Hey guys i need a graphics card

You’re really helpful MK Studio. Thanks guys. I can’t wait to save for this.

Remember to accept my answer below if I helped you

I was just simply stating that it was the best GPU you can buy in general and in our design firm it works exceptionally well for both engineering and game development. I don’t understand where the confusion in my statement stemmed from but you may want to try and read the comments to understand what’s being said and not just reply to whats being said. Perfect example is the info dump you gave as an answer. When it comes to machines no two are alike. What if Staticoli was was using a laptop? Can’t put a GTX1080 ti in a laptop lol. Also I noticed he reference USD ‘$’ with regards to budget and still your quoting him in EURO which is very different pricing IMO.

Difference between € and $ was realy low so is just 8/9% more in $, and I’m living in Italy so I’m automaticaly speak in €.

About the best GPU you right but when I told that GTX 1080 ti was best I mean the best he can take for reasanable price.

About laptop our desktop. He told that he got ms-7501 MBD and this is desktop one xD.

Also don’t forget to take into account that when you make a jump from the specs you provided to a higher end card like the Nvidia 10-series you gonna run into costly and possibly dangerous problems. The best way to avoid these potential issues in to really know what your working with. Now I’m unaware of the scope of your technical proficiency with system building. So I apologize if this is redundant to you.

Upgrading just the GPU without taking into account other hardware incompatibilities your gonna end up with a computer part that you cannot use or return because you opened the packaging.

From my understanding of the specs you provided it seems that the computer is about 6 years old and mid range computers back then usually came with a power supply of like 300-400w. Again I could be wrong but I’m basing it off the info you gave me. Anyway adding a higher end GPU is gonna add to your power draw from the PSU (Power Supply Unit - the thing the power plug comes comes from) and with the Nvidia 10-series on average your gonna need 500w+. That’s a 20-30% increase.

Since your upgrading you GPU your replacing one part for another but from my understanding the Radeon 3100 is an internal GPU so you can’t swap. You can add it and also give yourself muti-monitor support, too. But make sure you upgrade the PSU too which is going to be a factor in your budget of upgrading your GPU. Because you can’t upgrade the GPU until the PSU matches the expected power draw.

Now you may know this and it may be redundant however you did mention how should I modify or add on to my computer. So from my understanding I felt that this information should be given because it is relevant to the task at hand.

Alternatively you can absolutely just upgrade the card and not the PSU and assume nothing bad will happen. Then one day your computer might overload because you ran a graphics intensive simulation in the engine with choppy code which made the GPU start over drawing the PSU wattage limit, you go grab a fruit rollup and when you come back your desk is now on fire. Your PC is unrecoverable and you can’t hold accountability on the person who told you to buy a highend GPU when you asked for a starter GPU.

As far as a starter group goes check out the forums. Personally I do not. With regards to your machine on the other hand, I believe your question is better suited to be asked on a hardware related website like tomshardware or newegg. Pertaining to your current system configuration, it is beyond the scope of my expertise in system configurations to make appropriate recommendations for your system setup. Personally though I agree with Alaanor that the GTX 750 Ti is a good starter option in terms of investment. As far as know it should work with your system but I can’t make that call based on personal experiences with your setup. Just take note that you will most definitely need to upgrade you PSU if you upgrade your GPU, that I can recommend.

Yea that was 4 hours ago when he mentioned his specs, I was referencing your unsolicited info dump assuming he had a PC from 21 hours ago.

I realy dubit that someon take a rist to update a laptop without a good knowelage in particolar by it self. Evry time you try to change something in a laptop in particolar video card when you need to unscrew everything and you need to pay attenction to the micro connectors to dont damage them.

So I dubit that an advanced user that want to upgrade a laptop need to understand what video card to buy. And not advanced user dont know to update a laptop xD

XD what’s your answer for an apple computer?

Apple computer is made by the same components you found in non apple computers. Changing only the logo and OS installed inside the machine.

The biggest difference in reality is the price you pay for this components xD

an RX 460 has a much better price to preformance

You realize it’s more expensive right?

AMD RX 460 cost €105 and ti make 65.8 fps in MRender better that GTX 750 TI, less better ws AMD RX 550 that cost only 75€ and was little more powerfull that RX 460

What about the drivers? XD

Are you kidding me? xD

No i’m not, because APPLE drivers and PC drivers are programmed differently according to the OS.

For example if you buy a GPU for an apple you got to flash the firmware or buy one already flashed. With that said good luck finding the drivers or rather compatible GPUs. Cuz this is straight from the Nvidia web site

Sure you can use MACVIDCARDS.COM and streamline the process, too. However, you selection is drastically narrowed and if shipping internationally expect a $60 cost, which would eat at your budget.

I’m not looking for conflict here but when someone asks a question they are seeking a relevant answer. Had said I need a good starter GPU. He didn’t say what are good starter GPUs, which in that case your response would have been a valid answer. His question was non-factoid. You answered it as if it was descriptive and was biased in directing him to do what you thought was best for him. Which is highly unethical, unless you have the certification to do so. A perfect example would be giving legal advice without a license. In this case you would need a A+ certification license from CompTIA to give any advice in the modification of a computer system. You know one of these:

(-‸ლ)

Man xD, this is a professional answehub where you need a certification to answer questions? And you realy think that people without a certification was less profession that people with it, if yes come in italy and look people with certification and people without that prefer found all information they need around the web.

Aniway this man ask me a video card I tell him my opinion of best videocards he can take for reasonable price. If he dont tell me any information like iOS, his already build, that he want a workstation for his team etc etc. I just answer what he asking for, how I used to undestand that question.

About apple yeah I’m not a specialist becouse I dislike apple type of politics becouse you cant do evrething you want with
your device. And all I know I learn from internet, tutorials, official pages, documentation etc etc.

If he specify ask what GPU he can buy and upgrade a laptop, a mac etc etc if I dont know the answer I make a search and found infromation he need, if I already know the answer I make it without complicate all thinks. But I know that always self builded PC usualy run on open source OS that can permit easy change hardware.

Similar if someon ask me how much is 5 + 5 I answer 10 and dont ask him in what base he want the result becouse he dont specify it. Becouse if I answer is A he missunderstand me (in hex base 5 + 5 was A not 10).

You need to work on your comprehension of ethics and non-factoid and descriptive questions. Your taking this too personally.

With regards to your statement:

"Aniway this man ask me a video card"

This guy did not ask you personally, he asked the community.

and this statement:

"if I dont know the answer I make a search and found infromation he need,"

that’s not what the Answerhub is for.

How Can I help?

We’ve all been just starting out or learning something new at one point and gotten stuck. Someone probably helped you get past those obstacles. Sharing your knowledge or expertise is a great way to give back.

Keep these guidelines in mind when posting:

Only post answers when answering the question.
Post comments when asking for more information or contributing your own experience or insight to the issue.
Use the “Reply” link when directly replying to someone else’s comment.

Answering questions for the sake of answering questions is frustrating, confusing and unethical.

“If he dont tell me any information like iOS, his already build, that he want a workstation for his team etc etc. I just answer what he asking for, how I used to undestand that question.”

…well you ask him. That missing piece of info (his system) was important to answering the question correctly.

Maybe you failed to understand my sarcasm when I said the Nvidia Quadro gp100 was the best on the market for $7,000. That price may be a lot for you but for someone else it may not be for their system. Which is why you should ask what the budget is and what the specs are.

and just to school you on a little math:

" if someon ask me how much is 5 + 5 I answer 10 and dont ask him in what base he want the result becouse he dont specify it. Becouse if I answer is A he missunderstand me (in hex base 5 + 5 was A not 10)."

when referring to hexadecimal in equations you subtext 16 after the number. example:

516+516=A16
