I have personally ran UE5 on a laptop with 8 GB Ram and a GTX 1050.
While it does work, the experience isn’t really pleasant. Everything takes a really long time.
Also, you didn’t specify your GPU, which is an important spec.

Perhaps, what’s the GPU?

It has 512 mbs if not Mistaken

Then the answer is no. Why not post the actual specs?

The answer is a hard no in UE5.

Minimum:

GPU: 8GB
RAM: 32 GB
Processor: 9TH GENERATION

UE4

Maybe. If it’s a low-cost game.

Up to UE v4.18 one could run the engine on HD3000 (DX10 baby!) and 8GB (shared with the gpu, ofc!) RAM. Run as in a 3-legged dog run. Which is a bad analogy, actually. It was more like an unsteady crawl but you’re plagued by major hangover hiccups all the way to going gold…

You have two options:

  • get better PC
  • try doing game in engine like Godot.

if anything.try to find a used gtx1660/1060,limit editor frame rate to 30/50.disable lumen&ninate.lower engine scalability.
Still capable of making a game.

You’re right, but the issue could be GPU compatibility with this person’s motherboard.

I do not think their motherboard and/or power supply can handle what you suggested.

@Everynone ,

Either you’ve just aged yourself or you’ve been programming for a LOOONNNNGGGGG time.

…or both.

CPU could be incompatible with the motherboard.but I think graphics cards should be okay  .
