Hey folks, Is it possible to have different videos running on different video screens within a scene currently?

Hi ,

Yes, it is doable. I added a sample video as reference.

The easiest way to add videos is to go to Library > Material > Videos.

Add the 'Video sample' material to your TV screen.

Then, in the material detail change the video from the viewport.

Repeat the same action into your second screen and add a different video file.

I hope this helps, if you have any further questions please let me know.

Cheers,

Francesco

Thank you so much Francesco! By trying to do this by dragging and dropping from one monitor to another instead of starting over by dragging from the video in the videos folder for each I created an 'instance' situation, so that everything I did to one (change the video file, scale, whatever...) would happen to both! Doing this the way you suggest eliminates that possible issue! I started to think it couldn't be done. Thank you so much again!! This is a HUGE help for me!

It's understandable, when you shift+drag and copy 'instance', when you add/change material, the same material is changed for all the objects that are in the same 'instance'.

You can still shift+drag to copy the objects, but instead of selecting 'instance', you should select 'copy'. This way you can apply different materials to the copied objects.

I'm happy I could help!

Ha! Thanks again Francesco! Great additional tip regarding making copies of pieces that are not working as expected! Thanks for that! Hey, let me ask you if I could...I am rendering a video at 2K that takes about 8 minutes, and when I change the size option to 4K (that's ALL I'm changing) The render time becomes 16 hours plus. Should that be happening?? That seems like a crazy jump in render time. I wondered if maybe you would have a trick?

I have submitted my file, and my dxdiag file. Unfortunately, the Bug Report form link doesn't take me to a Bug report form. I have included a screenshot of what I'm getting when I click that link along with the requested files. Looking forward to hearing your response on the issue. I would love to be able to render these videos out at 4K within my timeframe. I've still got some time if we can find an answer in the next day or two. Thanks again!

We have received your files. I created a bug report on your behalf, you should be able to see it by clicking on 'My Cases' on the top left of the page.

Case # 00486413

I will have a look at your file and see what I can do to help.

Cheers,

Francesco

Hi ,

It is not abnormal for the rendering times to increase, but perhaps not that much.

There are several things to consider regarding the project, texture, if you are using path tracer, PC specs and so on.

Would you be able to report a bug with the following information and send us your project file for further analysis?

Bug report form: https://twinmotionhelp.epicgames.com/s/case-community-page

Upload your project here: https://epicgames.ent.box.com/f/890942c54667474b963541347921d538

Info:

  • What is the video file you are exporting?
  • Please send full PC specs, including CPU and GPU memory. You can use 'dxdiag' run command to facilitate and attach the file in the bug report form.

Thanks,

Francesco
