Help with "Power charged(press and hold) attack"

I want to do a press and hold(charge) then release to do charged attack. I want to use attack montages for this.Right now I have 3 animations that Im considering for the montages.

  1. The starting charging animation
  2. loop animation for after charge
  3. attack animation after fully charge.

How do I go about and do this?
Any tutorials or instructions would really help. Thanks in advance
