I’ve been working on the tutorial: Advanced Skill Sets for Environmental Art
Epic Games project downloaded from marketplace via link in course 17Mar22.
This course has the student build a complex material following along with the instructor and although I have figured it out for the most part, I am in Part 7 Landscape Application, which is a continuation of the composing of a material that was started in a previous section of this specific tutorial.
There are landscape layers (for painting textures) and coordinates that control tiling at both close camera view, with different settings at long camera views. In the associated Material Instance, I’ve been playing with the settings and at one point in this Part 7 I had decent looking rocks, but now I’m seeing that they look ok at a distance, but they no longer look like “round” rocks and close up the look very pointy and distorted. I think this involves a height setting, but I’ve not been able to figure out what the issue or which setting might be causing this.
I realize this is a long shot based on just these images, that you might have to download the material, which I don’t expect anyone to do, but I would be willing to upload the material if there is an easy way to do so. (Instructions please).
Anyway take a look and maybe you can tell me what setting either in the material, or the instance, or even the function, might be causing this, I’d be eternally grateful.
Not a complete image of master material.
