Help with importing terrain from mudbox

Hey guys,

I am trying to create a terrain for unreal engine atm. I am using autodesk mudbox for modeling the plan. The heightmap results are 4096x4096. My problem is now, that after testing i noticed that the mountains aren’t smooth. They look more like rocks in a minecraft map (as seen on the screenshot)… So does anyone know where i failed and how to avoid this?

Which file format do you use for your heightmap? -> you should use raw 16 :slight_smile:

I’ve used png 8bit. I tried to change heightmap rendersettings in mudbox to 16 bit but then my pc keeps crashing everytime while extracting and when i change it after creating in ps its the same as before .-.
