I was working on shaders for my landscape and water. I was able to do everything fine then the next day when I tried to open my blueprint unreal crashed. I have tried several times with the same result. I am using 5.3 and have rebooted my computer, verified 5.3. and also have created a new project and tried to edit blueprint with the system still crashing. I am not sure what to do next anyone have suggestions?
It’s impossible to know what to recommend, because “it crashed” could be literally anything.
What more details do you get?
Do you get a stack trace?
Do you get a crashing error message?
Are there messages in the log file?
What’s the last few lines of the log before the crash?
What happens if you open another map?
What happens if you remove only that blueprint asset from the project directory and open the map?
(presumably you have source control so you can temporarily remove it, and then revert the removal.)
well on a whim I tried just a normal new project with 3rd person. before I was using a template I made but never had a problem before. I was able to open a blueprint without crashing so maybe it was something in my template. after work I will try a couple things then figure out where the log is and post whatever it says. I never had any problems before so not sure on finding the logs etc as I never needed them in all the time I been using unreal. lucky i guess
