help with Android device gyroscopes.

So recently I have been attempting to create a rolling ball style game (similar to super monkey ball) for an android device such as a nexus tablet. at the moment i have used the default rolling ball game built into UE4 and I have added a tilt to the input for movement in the project settings. However I am coming across some issues such as, the gyroscopes outputting a value of -3 or positive 3 when the device is held flat or on a table. this is causing the ball to roll towards the top right of the screen. I was wondering if anyone has any thoughts or ways around this. Thanks in advance for any help.
