Help with an opening door

I’ve written the opening door blueprint but the door’s gizmo is in the center so when it rotates it doesn’t do it in the right axis, i mean, the whole door moves, not like a normal door which x axis remains stopped

You need to move your door’s pivot point. I believe there is a way to do it inside the engine but it’s better to do so in your DCC package of choice (Maya, etc.).

As far as I know there is no permanent way how you could do that in the engine -> so you will have to do it in the 3d program :slight_smile: (there the pivot is always at 0,0,0!!)

If you can’t go back to 3d program, with your door in a blueprint, you can use a box as parent, set your door at the right location and rotate the box.

So when I made my doors, I opened up my 3d program of choice, loaded up my door frame and door and set everything at 0,0,0. I then made sure the door sat in the door frame exactly how I wanted it to be in the game. I then adjusted my pivot point to the bottom corner of the door (inside or outside doesn’t matter, I prefer outside), then place your doorknob opposite of the pivot point. This works. But then you need door hinges. Have one half of the door hinge apart of the door frame model and the other half on the door model. Set the pivot point to the center of your door’s door hinge.
